Ethanol is Colorless, transparent and viscous liquid at room temperature, strong hygroscopicity of methanol and ammonia smell. Mixed with water, methanol and acetone, slightly soluble in benzene, ether and carbon tetrachloride. Aqueous solution is alkaline, can be absorb acidic gas, the absorbed gas can be released after heating. It produces salt with inorganic acid and organic acid, and anhydride generated ester. Keep away from naked flame and high temperature, steam is harmful.
