Ethyl acrylate, or EA, is a colorless, volatile liquid with a pungent odor that is used as an important component in synthetic adhesives, coatings, plastics and textile additives. Ethyl acrylate can also be used as a polymer monomer, and the copolymer with ethylene is a kind of hot melt adhesive. The copolymer with 5% chloroethyl vinyl ether is a kind of synthetic rubber with good oil resistance and heat resistance, and can replace nitrile rubber in some cases.
