Vinyl acetate is the main raw material of Vinylon.
It is widely used as binder, architectural coating, textile sizing and finishing agent, paper strengthening agent, and for the manufacture of safety glass. Bromoacetaldehyde diethyl alcohol was prepared by the reaction of vinyl acetate with ethanol . It's an intermediate for the drug methimazole.
