Sodium formate is white absorbent powder or crystalline, with a slight formic acid odor. Soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. Toxic. It can be used in the production of formic acid, oxalic acid, formamide and insurance powder, camouflage acid in the leather industry, chrome tannery, used as catalyst, etc.
