Isopropyl myristate is colorless to light yellow thin oily liquid, odorless and tasteless. It is miscible with water. It has good lubricity and permeability, can improve the affinity to the skin, and is a low alcohol ester of higher fatty acids.

Isopropyl myristate has low greasy sensation, soft effect on skin, and good permeability, and is a solvent and retention agent for pigments, spices and various additives.
