DPG is colorless slightly viscous liquid.Boiling point 233ºC, relative density 1.0252 (20/20ºC), refractive index 1.439 (25ºC), flash point 137ºC.Dissolve in water. Mainly used as shellac varnish, cellulose acetate solvent.It is also used for preparing unsaturated polyester resin, plasticizer, synthetic detergent, and also for fragrance, fragrance, cosmetics and other odor-sensitive products.

(1) DPG is completely soluble in water andhygroscopic (attracts water from the atmosphere),it's the ideal solvent applied for many flavors and fragrances and cosmetics.
(2) DPG is also used as a solvent, humectant, and coupling agent for many fragrance and cosmetic/personal-care items, such as perfumes, skin-care products, deodorants, hair-care products, and many others.
(3)DPG is used as a component in the production of unsaturated polyester resins, alkyd resins, polyurethane polyols, textile auxiliaries and Dibenzoate plasticisers.
