1-Hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid, also known as HEDP, is a diphosphonate compound used in dish soap, water purification processes, cosmetics and pharmaceutical production. The salt produced by this acid has the formula MnHEDP.

Pure product is white crystal. Industrial products are colorless to light yellow transparent liquid.
Soluble in water, soluble in methanol and ethanol. Hydroxyethylenediphosphonic acid is a chemical raw material commonly used in industrial water treatment, household cleaning products and personal care products.
