Weak acid olive oil derived from natural olive oil is weakly acidic, low sodium content (< 0.5%), and has a high affinity with the skin; Use in pH 3-12 range; It can reduce irritation. Water-soluble olive oil is derived from the water-soluble functional oils of olive oil, which can be used in water-based wash products to reduce skin irritation and tightness, provide excellent fat enrichment effect, and good moisture retention.
Application in cosmetics
OLIVEM 1000 is used as the main emulsifier in O/W emulsions and has good compatibility with various ingredients commonly used in cosmetics. Recommended dosage of 2-8%, depending on the formula, easy to operate and can be used alone
Heat the oil phase to 70-75 ° C (higher temperature is required for wax with high melting point)
Mix the water phase and heat to 70 ° C
Under the condition of rapid stirring, the oil phase is directly and slowly added to the water phase, and the water phase can also be added to the oil phase
Continue stirring rapidly for a few minutes
Let cool slowly under stirring conditions
The final consistency takes shape after 24 hours (viscosity dating is 20% higher than just finished viscosity)
The stirring process will affect the final viscosity, low speed stirring will form a lower viscosity and will form a layered structure
Rapid agitation results in a less consistent structure with smaller but still stable particles
Emulsification capacity
Olivem 1000 has been tested with a dosage of 2-8% and an oil phase of 5-25% in different polarities. The results are as follows:
Olivem 1000 Emulsifies different polar oils (mineral oils, liquid esters, waxes and vegetable oils)
6-8% Olivem 1000 forms a self-emulsifying system without the need for other thickeners
4 to 5% Olivem 1000 emulsifies 5 to 25% of the oil phase and gives a refreshing cream, with the addition of a small amount of thickening agent (ex: 0.1%carbomer or 0.3% trisenium gum) to improve stability
2 to 3% Olivem 1000 can be made into a fluid emulsion
The manufacturing process requires slow stirring to form a stable liquid crystal emulsion
