Dipropylene glycol is a mixture of three isomeric chemical compounds, 4-oxa-2,6-heptandiol, 2-(2-hydroxy-propoxy)-propan-1-ol, and 2-(2-hydroxy-1-methyl-ethoxy)-propan-1-ol. It is a colorless, nearly odorless liquid with a high boiling point and low toxicity.

PRODUCT APPLICATION

1.DPG is completely soluble in water andhygroscopic (attracts water from the atmosphere),it's the ideal solvent applied for many flavors and fragrances and cosmetics.

2.DPG is also used as a solvent, humectant, and coupling agent for many fragrance and cosmetic/personal-care items, such asperfumes, skin-care products, deodorants, hair-care products, and many others.

3. DPG is used as a component in the production of unsaturated polyester resins, alkyd resins, polyurethane polyols, textile auxiliaries and Dibenzoate plasticisers

4.It can be used as a plasticizer, intermediate in industrial chemical reactions, polymerization initiators or monomers, and solvents. Its low toxicity and solvent properties make it an ideal additive for perfumes, skin and hair care products. It is also a common ingredient in commercial atomizing liquids used in fog machines in the entertainment industry.
