Pure dimethyl formamide has no smell while that of technical level or degenerative has a fishlike smell, and it will appear in layer after mixed with petroleum ether. It may burn or explode if encountering open flame or high temperature, and react violently with concentrated sulfuric acid or nitric acid and even cause explosion.Hazard label: 7 (combustible liquid).
