Sodium polyacrylate is a commonly used dispersant, colorless or light yellow viscous liquid at room temperature, non-toxic, easily soluble in water and sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, but in calcium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide and other aqueous solutions with the increase in the number of alkali earth metal ions, first dissolved after precipitation.
It can operate under alkaline and medium concentration conditions without scaling, and its molecular weight is about 500-3000. It can disperse microcrystals or sediment of salts such as calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate in water without settling, so as to achieve scale inhibition. In addition, it can be used as scale inhibition dispersant in circulating cooling water systems such as power plants, chemical plants, fertilizer plants, refineries and air conditioning systems. It is also widely used in papermaking, textile printing and dyeing, ceramics, coatings, building materials and other industries.
* When used as a paper coating dispersant, the relative molecular weight is 2000-4000, and the coating concentration is 65% to 70%, it can still have good rheology and ripening stability.
* Molecular weight between 1000-3000, used as water quality stabilizer and black liquor concentration scaling control agent.
* Molecular weight of more than 100,000, used as a coating thickener and water retention agent, can make carboxylated styrene butadiene latex, acrylic emulsion and other synthetic latex viscosity increase, avoid water precipitation, to maintain the stability of the coating system.
* Molecular weight of more than 1,000,000, used as a flocculant. It can also be used as a superabsorbent resin, soil amendment, and as a viscosifier and emulsifying dispersant in the food industry.
