Tert-butanol, 2-methyl-2-propanol, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C4H10O. It is a colorless transparent liquid with a camphor-like odor, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether, slightly soluble in water, hygroscopic and flammable .
